The Otaku Lamps 3.0 update takes our branding to the next level!

Although our previous packaging was amazing, and a true remark on the progress we made as a company, we are always looking for ways to increase the value we provide our customers.

Starting as an online-based company, we originally made our packaging based on the series as a whole. For example, all of our Attack on Titan - Final Season products came in the same Attack on Titan - Final Season packaging.

Throughout 2022, we started working with more and more retail companies. After stopping by a few of the Kinokuniya Bookstores and Line Friends locations, we realized a potential issue with our products being sold in stores...that being the box did not clearly communicate what was inside! 

We have an awesome LED lamp that is the perfect addition to your desk/office/gaming setup, however the customer would have no idea of the gem they are holding in their hands!

That same night, the founders had a midnight brainstorm, and this is the first draft we ever drew on the Notes App in our phone. We're still deciphering what some of the text says to this day 😅. 

To get a better idea of how the product would fit in the package, we decided to create a mock-up on Photoshop the next day.

We spent the next few weeks drafting, sourcing, and finalizing the design for what the new upgrade could officially look like. With this, we were able to craft the final version of our new packaging. 

A few upgrades you will notice are:

• Unique packaging for each and every product
• A front window so you can visually see all of the fine engraving details
• Serialized numbering so you can collect them all! (notice Levi above is 04 out of 10)
• Character image that matches the lamp inside

On the back of the package there are also some new upgrades such as:

• Large product photos to showcase the lamp colors and features
• Product descriptions and specifications
• Legal lines & consumer warnings

After a few months of licensing approvals, we were finally able to introduce the new 3.0 packaging update in September 2022, alongside our new Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai collaboration with Aniplex.

There were some products that did not make it to the 3.0 update, which we now refer to as Legacy. You can still purchase these products with the previous packaging from our website under the Legacy collection.
